Pamela Smallwood

Pamela (Pam) Smallwood is an Associate Professor of Computer Science (CS) within Anderson College of Business and Computing at Regis University. She is also the Editor of the Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges, Rocky Mountain region.

Pam received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, and her Master of Science in Computer Science from Arizona State University. Prior to teaching at Regis, she served 6 years in the military, working as a Computer Systems Officer at Williams Air Force base. After leaving the service, she worked for the University of Dayton Research Institute as a Computer Systems Manager.

Pam came to Regis in 1993, and was instrumental in developing the online CS program for the University. She currently teaches Computer Science (CS) courses for both traditional daytime and non-traditional evening and online undergraduate students. Her current research focus is on development of active learning teaching techniques for teaching STEM courses, and she is an active member of ACM and of the POGIL project.
