Robin Hextrum

Robin Hextrum attended USC for her undergraduate studies, where she completed a double major in Fine Art and Neuroscience and rowed on the Varsity Women’s Crew Team. Following this diverse experience, she studied at Laguna College of Art and Design where she received her MFA in painting. She then taught studio arts and liberal arts coursework at Laguna College of Art and Design and Rio Hondo Community College. She also received a second Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Art History from UC Riverside. She has exhibited her paintings across the country and is represented by Abend Gallery in downtown Denver. She is the recipient of grants from The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and The Stobart Foundation. Her current series of paintings reflects her knowledge of contemporary art practice and the legacy of art history as she combines disparate visual iconography and painterly vocabularies in each artwork.
