Through this series of special events, we continue cultivating a rich and culturally affirming campus. We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements and contributions of our Hispanic, Latine and Chicano/a community members as a federally-designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

Good Trouble in Action: Food and Justice in the Season of Creation

A summit on food and justice! Come for the ecological fair and stay for the Good Trouble conversation with local partners who have devoted their lives to caring for the earth and sustaining the planet.

Good Trouble Conversation: Lunch and Learn

Participate in a Lunch and Learn with guests from the Boulder County Latino History Project who seek to uplift Latine histories, cultures and stories. Light lunch provided.

Connections Retreat

Date: Oct. 2–3
Location: Ponderosa Pines Retreat Center

Are you a first-year student? Connections Retreat is a one-night getaway designed to help you meet other students, build community and reflect on the start of your Regis journey. Hosted by the First Gen Success Center (CoBe) and University Ministry, the retreat offers a welcoming, inclusive space for all first-year undergraduates to connect beyond campus.

Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Remembrance

Date: Oct. 5–Nov. 9
Location: Dayton Memorial Library

An art exhibition organized by Regis professor and artist Tony Ortega, Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Remembrance explores how remembrance can bring people together and how cultural traditions continue to evolve and remain meaningful for new generations. A reception will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5.

GOZA

Organized by SOMOS, our Latine Student Group, GOZA is more than just a celebration. It is our way of inviting the entire Regis community to come together, share a meal and experience the beauty of Hispanic and Latinx culture. We want every student, staff and faculty member to feel welcome in this space because building cultural awareness helps us grow as people and as a community.

Good Trouble Conversation: Food, Culture and Ethics of Care for Lands of the Southwest

Latina Equal Pay Day

Join us on Oct. 8 for Latina Equal Pay Day, the keystone event of Hispanic Heritage Month, featuring activist Mónica Ramírez, journalist Maria Hinojosa, Colorado Sen. Polly Baca and a special video appearance by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. More event details are coming soon.

	Sunset Salchata Date: Every Friday Time: 7 p.m. Location: Cheesman Park Enjoy an evening of free salsa and bachata dance lessons at the Cheesman Pavilion.
	Amor a la Mexicana Fest Date: Saturday, Sept. 12 Location: Auraria Campus Regis students can volunteer at this event and receive a free ticket for their service. This event is sponsored by our partner, the Mexican Cultural Center.
	Raices de Colorado Date: Tuesday, Sept. 15 Time: 5–8 p.m. Location: Red Rocks Community College, Lakewood Campus Join RRCC to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with Latine art, culture and community. Enjoy featured artwork and a mariachi performance, with appetizers and refreshments provided. Guests are encouraged to RSVP.
	La Santa Cecilia Concert Date: Friday, Sept. 18 Time: TBD Location: Levitt Pavilion Enjoy a free concert by Grammy Award-winning Mexican American band La Santa Cecilia, known for blending cumbia, bolero, ranchero, norteño, jazz and more into their distinctive sound. 	Latin Beats: Sonidos de las Américas Concert Date: Saturday, Sept. 19 Time: 7 p.m. Location: Boettcher Concert Hall Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Latin Beats: Sonidos de las Américas, a free concert featuring the Colorado Symphony and a vibrant blend of traditional, classical and contemporary Latin music. Tickets are available, and seating is general admission. CoBe will provide transportation.
