Join Regis University in celebrating National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week and Hispanic Heritage Month! Through this series of special events, we continue cultivating a rich and culturally affirming campus. We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements and contributions of our Hispanic, Latine and Chicano/a community members as a federally-designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI)!

GOZA is more than just a celebration. It is our way of inviting the entire Regis community to come together, share a meal and experience the beauty of Hispanic and Latinx culture. We want every student, staff and faculty member to feel welcome in this space because building cultural awareness helps us grow as people and as a community.

Mean Girls, Bilingual Movie Night

Date: Thursday, Sept. 25
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Quad Lawn (Walker's in case of rainy weather)

Join the Student Programming Board for a bilingual movie night with a Spanish closed-captioned viewing of Mean Girls! Light refreshments of concha pan dulce and hot cocoa will be provided.

Professor Ortega will share about his journey as a nationally acclaimed muralist and painter.

Good Trouble Conversation featuring Jenifer Rodriguez of Colorado Legal Services

Jenifer Rodriguez is an attorney with the Farm Worker Rights Division of Colorado Legal Services. In her role, Ms. Rodriguez defends the labor and human rights of farm workers and sheepherders in Colorado.

Paletas and Dance

Date: Monday, Sept. 8
Time: 11:30 a.m. - noon
Location: Outside the Student Center

Kick off National HSI Week with a burst of flavor and rhythm! Enjoy refreshing paletas (Mexican-style popsicles) and join us for a mini dance lesson that will get you moving to lively Latin beats. Come connect, celebrate and experience Hispanic culture through taste and movement. Open to all.

The Community for Belonging invites Regis faculty, staff and students to a Lunch and Learn exploring how recent White House executive orders, memos and directives impact higher education. Bring your own lunch and join Dr. Janelle Ramsel, Regis Chief Legal Officer, as she provides an overview and answers questions.

HSI Week Closing and Hispanic Heritage Month Opening Mass

Join University Ministry as we honor and celebrate HSI week and the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. We welcome all students, staff, faculty, families and community members to join us for a bilingual mass celebrated by interim president Rev. D. Scott Hendrickson, S.J., D.Phil.
