Regis University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary institutions in the North Central region. Regis University’s most recent comprehensive evaluation was in 2018, and the institution remains in good standing.

Regis and the Open Pathway

“The Open Pathway is one of three options institutions have for maintaining their accreditation with HLC. It follows a 10-year cycle and, like all pathways, is focused on quality assurance and institutional improvement. The Open Pathway is unique in that its improvement component, the Quality Initiative, affords institutions the opportunity to pursue improvement projects that meet their current needs and aspirations.” (https://www.hlcommission.org/Accreditation/open-overview.html)

Spring 2023 Submit proposed Quality Initiative to HLC for approval
Fall 2023 – Summer 2026 Quality Initiative completion
August 2026 Submit Quality Initiative Report to HLC
Sept. 2026 – March 2028 Criterion Teams provide draft assurance argument content and evidence files
August 2028 Community review and feedback of draft argument
October 2028 Submit Assurance Argument, Evidence Files, and Federal Compliance Filing
