Dear Colleagues

I am currently in my third year as Regis University Provost and I can honestly say it has been among the most rewarding positions of my life. Regis University is thriving. Our faculty and staff serve our students with exemplary dedication. My goal of increasing Regis University’s visibility as a jewel in the Jesuit crown continues to be realized, advanced by the excellence of faculty, staff and students.

My goals for 2018- 2019 are intentionally ambitious as well as achievable, and already this year we are on our way toward realizing many of them.

New Goals for 2018-2019:

  • Implement the Student Success Initiative
  • Achieve 10 year Higher Learning Commission reaffirmation of accreditation
  • Fill all interim College dean positions to complete the Provost's executive team
  • Stabilize credit hour generation, with year-over-year stability for the university as a whole
  • Apply a refined costing model to determine the appropriate mix of student populations for short-, mid-, and long-range projections
  • Enhance systems for improved affiliate faculty engagement
  • Exhibit fiscal stewardship in managing operating budgets as well as restricted and designated funds
  • Develop faculty capacity to facilitate conversations that improve civil discourse and a focus on our Jesuit, Catholic way of proceeding
  • Demonstrate progress in developing a diverse faculty that reflects the diversity of the student body
  • Participate effectively in the capital campaign through individual, strategic, and team-based approach to high capacity donors

  • I always want to remind people that I have open office hours with refreshments every Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Main Hall Suite #217. Come for a few minutes or for the whole time. Faculty, students, staff and alumnae are welcome. It is a chance to share with me what is on your mind, meet people from around the University, and deepen the community we love so much at Regis.

It is a privilege to be Regis University’s Provost. I thank our faculty, staff and students for their continued dedication to this great institution.

    Sincerely,

    Janet Houser, Ph.D.
