Janet returned to Regis College (now Regis University) in 1982 as the Technical Services Librarian in the same library she worked in as a student. She was selected to the position of Dean in 2013. As the Technical Services Librarian, she held increasing responsibility in management, budget, acquisitions, automation, supervision, licensing and serials control. As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Ethiopia, 1974-76), she has melded two passions, international travel and sustainable library development, with her research interests. In 2003, she served as the shipboard librarian for the Semester at Sea and literally sailed around the world. In 2006, she was an invited participant to “Thinking Outside the Borders,” an International Leadership Institute funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and sponsored by the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs and the Illinois State Library. In 2009, she was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society, in recognition of scholarship, loyalty to Jesuit values, and service. Janet has served as editor of many publications, both print and online, including Colorado Libraries, International Leads, Collaborative Librarianship, Jesuit Higher Education: A Journal and The Herald: News for those who served in Eritrea and Ethiopia.

Janet received the Regis University Alumni Service Award in 2016.
