“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” – Helen Keller
We live in uncertain times, and it’s an unfortunate truth that traumatic events sometimes find their way into the classroom. To help teachers be there for their students during difficult times, we invite educators, administrators and anyone else working with youth to Regis’ Touched by Trauma: Resilience in an Uncivil World Education Conference. This event will bring together educators of all types, from first-year teachers to seasoned superintendents, for an eye-opening discussion about how students and educators process trauma and build resilience.
We will be joined by keynote speaker David Hogg, activist and survivor of the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida. David is the author of #NeverAgain: A New Generation Draws the Line, an in-depth look at the formation of the #NeverAgain movement and its goals for the future.
The ultimate purpose of this event is to show how educators can take care of themselves and their students in trying times.
