View Construction Area Closures

A $20.5 million makeover on DeSmet Residence Hall is underway.

Construction on the Regis University building began April 5. It’s scheduled to be completed by Aug. 15, 2020.

Demolition of the south area where the landscape shop was has started. Foundation work will begin in May, and a crane will be brought in mid-June. The older section of DeSmet will be upgraded with renovated bathrooms, new paint and carpet.

The project will add 104 beds, four student lounges and three classrooms.

Parking Lot 5 North, located north of DeSmet Hall and East of O’Connell Hall, will close May 6 until the completion of the project. The parking spaces west of the Field House also will be allocated for deliveries only.

The stairs from Lot 5 to DeSmet and O’Connell as well as the stairs from O’Connell to the courtyard are going to remain closed until further notice. The pathway between O’Connell and Carroll is now open.

Lot 5, where students park north of Residence Village, will remain open.

The landscape department has moved to the old Ranger Dome and will eventually be in Regis Square. Physical Plant administration will remain in the basement of DeSmet Hall for now.
