Congratulations to Elly Frye, RC ’19, who won the 2019 Matteo Ricci Award for Best Presentation at this year’s Global Engagement Colloquium (GEC).
Held every year in March, the GEC was created in 2016 to give Regis students who have studied abroad the opportunity to share their unique cultural learning experiences.
Frye’s presentation addressed the question “How we ought to live?” and analyzed the issues that can arise from international travel. She spoke about how a society can make a positive impact in the international tourism industry.
“The Global Engagement Colloquium is always my favorite day of the academic year,” said Naomi Olson, assistant professor and study abroad director. “It is as fun to learn about other cultures and experiences from the stories of students I don’t know well as it is rewarding to see students I do know well shine while sharing their stories with our broader Regis community.”
