Colorado Dragon Boat Festival
When: July 28 – 29
Where: Sloan’s Lake Park
This summer, experience the sport whose origins date back to China more than 2,000 years ago. Watch the races, eat all the food and celebrate Denver’s Asian and Asian-American culture at the biggest pan-Asian Dragon Boat Festival in the nation.

A Taste of Colorado
When: Aug. 31 – Sept. 3
Where: Civic Center Park
Continuing its 35-year tradition for being the largest free food and music festival in Colorado, A Taste of Colorado boasts more than 50 food vendors, 175 artisans’ booths and 25 musical acts. It’s time to treat your senses to the best that Colorado has to offer.

Lakeside Amusement Park
When: June – September
Where: 4601 Sheridan Blvd.
Nothing says old school summer fun like rollercoasters and funnel cake. Since 1908, Coloradans have flocked to Lakeside for evening picnics, carnival games and thrill rides. If you have a strong stomach, don’t forget to ride the Wild Chipmunk!

Farmers’ Markets

Where: Throughout Denver
Locally grown, farm-fresh produce, baked goods, live entertainment. If any of these things strike your fancy, get yourself to one of the numerous farmers’ markets scattered around the Denver metro area this summer. You won’t be disappointed.

Denver Mart Drive In
When: Memorial Day to Labor Day
Where: 451 E. 58th Ave. 
When the sun goes down, the movies queue up. Grab your friends, stock up on snacks and get your car to the Denver Mart Drive In for double features of your favorite movies.
