Global Health Pathway

Prepare for a Career without Borders.

The Global Health Pathway (GHP) is a concentration available to select students in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions who are passionate about health equity and eager to make a meaningful impact, whether close to home or across the world.

By integrating knowledge with action, you'll gain insight into contemporary global health issues through course work, service learning and clinical experiences in both local and international settings, all while satisfying your primary degree program requirements. The pathway fosters intentional, interprofessional learning, deepens your understanding of population-based approaches to global health challenges and prepares you to work effectively with community partners and organizations around the world — giving you a competitive advantage for advanced studies or a career in global health.

Ready to Get Started?

Current students can apply to the GHP via the downloadable application. For more information, contact the GHP at globalhealth@regis.edu or 303.458.4174.

Three-step GHP process: 1. Choose global health topic area(s) to study throughout degree program; 2. Review global health competencies and program requirements. Create an action plan for completion prior to graduation. 3. Complete immersion assignments and requirements, participate in immersion and special event experiences, attend group advising meetings, complete assessment document, present capstone

How Does It Work?

The GHP is a student-driven program of independent study with advising from the GHP Committee. Students apply to the GHP early in their studies, many during the fall semester of their first year. If accepted, they integrate the GHP Competencies into their primary degree requirements by focusing on global health issues through course work, service, interprofessional reflection, local and/or international global health immersions.

Global Health Pathway Experiences: Education - Teaching, Service Learning, Clinical Practice

Program Framework

The Global Health Pathway is built on three pillars — Service, Education and Clinical Practice — designed to help students examine health care systems through multiple lenses and develop the competencies that will transform their practice. Through course work, service learning and immersion experiences, students work toward the GHP Competencies through a structured assessment process.
