The Doctor of Physical Therapy program features exceptional, purpose-built learning spaces designed to support your clinical education and professional development. Highlights include:
- Specialized research laboratories to accommodate your specific interests and career goals.
- A large clinical teaching lab furnished with 29 electric high-low treatment tables, high-tech audiovisual equipment, seven monitors, cameras and a large video screen so you can see demonstrations from anywhere in the room.
- State-of-the-art anatomy and neuroscience lab equipped with 14 humidors, human donors and a wide range of anatomical models, giving you practical exposure to the structures and systems that drive human movement and function.

Shared Spaces, Shared Learning
Gain professional collaboration skills through interprofessional learning in shared university facilities designed to mirror real-world health care settings. These include an expanded clinical simulation center with realistic patient care environments such as inpatient rooms, outpatient settings and an apartment simulation, where you’ll practice alongside peers, standardized patients, and high-fidelity manikins.
At the Thornton Interprofessional Health Site, the skills lab provides additional hospital-style training rooms equipped with patient beds, assessment tools and medical equipment, giving you repeated opportunities to build confidence and apply your skills in settings that reflect actual clinical practice.
Human Anatomy Lab
The Human Anatomy Donor Laboratory gives DPT students essential hands-on experience to better understand human movement and structure. You’ll work in small anatomy lab groups thoughtfully organized to support collaboration and different learning styles, and together you’ll complete a full-body dissection over the course of the semester.
This team-based approach helps create a supportive learning environment where you can build anatomical knowledge through direct, guided experience with human donors. Alongside developing a strong foundation in anatomy, you’ll also strengthen key professional skills such as teamwork, communication and applying three-dimensional anatomical understanding to patient care.
