Davis values teaching in higher education not only for the knowledge it yields to prepare students to engage in careers that fuels their sense of meaning and purpose in their chosen life’s work but more importantly to appreciate learning as a lifelong process and the great potential if offers to develop the mind, body, spirit as well as to understand the positive impact an education can have to make the world in which we live a better place. Her philosophy in teaching is that it is a lifelong endeavor that requires an inquisitive and humble mind to improve one’s on-going ability to teach; creativity to engage today’s learners; and a large dose of listening skills to understand and to connect to the needs of the individual learner to unleash their highest learning potential.
