Johnnie Bejarano

Dr. Johnnie Bejarano is a lecturer at Regis University. He teaches forensic and fraud audit, non-profit and governmental accounting, accounting ethics and financial communication. Dr. Bejarano believes in promulgating professional credentials for his students as a licensed CPA (CO), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM). His decades of experience included Chair, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Chair, ACFE Board of Review and Vice-Chair, Colorado State Board of Accountancy, and he retired as a LtCol from the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, Deputy Commander for Support in a combat zone. Currently, he volunteers for the editorial advisory committee for Fraud Magazine (ACFE), the Board of Directors for the Colorado Chapter of ACFE, and is a member of the Accounting Careers Committee, Colorado Society of CPAs. His interests are mitigating fraud, behavioral and regulatory ethics. His dissertation topic is Mitigating Corporate Financial Fraud: A Qualitative Study. He is an avid photographer and enjoys spending time with his two granddaughters.
