RN-BSN Completion


Complete the Regis University Application or the NursingCAS Application. Regis University accepts either application and gives equal consideration to both.

Application Requirements

The application requirements are the same regardless of which application you utilize to apply. If utilizing the Regis Application all documents are submitted directly to Regis University. If utilizing the Nursing Centralized Application Service (NursingCAS) application, all documents, including transcripts are submitted directly to NursingCAS.

  • Submit a completed online application.
  • Request official transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions attended. Transcripts must be official. Official transcripts can be mailed or sent electronically. If completing the NursingCAS application, transcript instructions are included in the application and transcripts are sent directly to NursingCAS. If utilizing the Regis University application direct transcripts to the following address:
  • Submit a current resume including all professional and volunteer experience

Materials in support of an application for admission become the property of Regis University and will not be provided or returned to an applicant.

Eligibility and Ranking

Applications for the RN to BSN Completion program are evaluated on a rolling admission basis. An application is reviewed and an enrollment decision is made once all required application materials are submitted.

  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale. (Applicants with a GPA below 2.5 will be considered on an individual basis)
  • Completion of an associate degree in nursing or diploma nursing program.
  • Completion of Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology and less than 36 outstanding non-nursing semester hours.
  • An active, unrestricted or unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state in which the student’s clinical/practicum experience will be completed.
  • Credits are accepted in transfer with a grade of “C-” or better from regionally accredited schools as well as from approved testing programs (CLEP, DSST, NLN) in accordance with established Regis University policies.
  • Applicants who graduated from a nursing program more than three years prior to admission, may be required to have a minimum of 1,000 hours of nursing work experience in the last three years or have successfully completed a Colorado Council on Nursing Education approved refresher course or an approved refresher course in their current state of nursing practice.
  • Eligibility for all BSN programs is pending the successful completion of a drug screening and a criminal background check. To learn more about disqualifying offenses, visit the Disqualifying Offenses and Eligibility of Licensure Notification.
  • A complete health history and physical examination record indicating that the student is physically able to meet the objectives of the program, and is appropriately immunized is required after admission to the program.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care professionals certification.
  • If English is not your native/first language, you must meet the following language proficiency requirement:
    • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – Internet-based: Minimum score of 82 (24 Writing, 20 Speaking, 22 Reading, 16 Listening), Computer-based: Minimum score of 213. Regis University's TOEFL code is 4656.
    • Applicants that have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited US institution do not need to provide a TOEFL score.

Program Exceptions

Due to regulatory requirements in the states listed below, Regis University’s Loretto Heights School of Nursing is unable to accept or enroll students who intend to reside and/or do clinical in any of these states while pursuing RN-BSN, MS Nursing, Post-Graduate Certificate, or DNP education through any of our distance learning formats.
