How Does It Work?

During their first three years, students complete bachelor’s degree requirements, including core courses, HES courses and the prerequisites for the DPT program. In their junior year, students apply to the DPT program and, if accepted, may begin doctoral classes in their senior year at Regis' Denver campus. After completing their senior year (which is also their first year of DPT studies), students earn their B.S. Health and Exercise Science. Upon completing all remaining DPT requirements, they are awarded the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Traditional Degree Progression

an infographic shows that the traditional degree progression takes four years of undergraduate study, followed by three years of graduate study, for a total of seven years needed to earn a DPT degree

3+3 Degree Progression

an infographic shows that the 3+3 degree progression requires three years of undergraduate study, one year of combined undergraduate and graduate studies, then two more years dedicated to completing graduate studies leads to a degree in only six years, with the seventh year available for employment!
