Regis University Announces Erin Winterrowd as the New Dean of Regis College

Regis University is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin Winterrowd, Ph.D., as Dean of Regis College. Winterrowd, a seasoned educator and accomplished psychologist, brings a wealth of experience in higher education leadership, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a strong background in psychology.

Erin Winterrowd portraitWinterrowd holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University and has been a licensed psychologist in the State of Colorado since 2016. With an academic journey that includes a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Women Studies, Winterrowd has consistently demonstrated a passion for advancing education, fostering inclusivity, and contributing to the development of the academic community.

Provost, Jake Bucher said he believes with Winterrowd’s experience, she will be a strong leader for Regis College.

Winterrowd expresses anticipation for this upcoming chapter and eagerly awaits the future of the college. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Regis University since 2016, Winterrowd has played a pivotal role in shaping the academic landscape.

Winterrowd's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion is evident through her leadership roles, such as serving as the Women's and Gender Studies Program Director at Regis University, and co-founding and co-chairing the Queer Resource Alliance. In addition, she has been a recipient of various awards including Student Body Advisor/Moderator of the Year and the Regis College Service Award.

Her higher education leadership experience extends beyond Regis University, having served as Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Winterrowd has been an elected member of various committees, including the Regis College Curriculum and Core Committee, further showcasing her dedication to academic excellence and collaborative decision-making.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Winterrowd has been actively involved in external consultancy and advisory boards, contributing her expertise to projects like the NSF-funded ADVANCE UWO initiative and serving as an External Workshop Consultant for the Colorado State University College of Natural Sciences.

Winterrowd has a strong background in grant-supported research and teaching, focusing on initiatives such as the Regis University Summer Program Advancing Research Knowledge (SPARK) and the impactful Academic Motherhood project, examining the 'Child Penalty' for Women of Color in STEM.
