Regis University to Host Documentary Screening and Panel Discussion on Northwest Denver Community's Response

Regis University is proud to host an engaging evening dedicated to exploring and discussing the Northwest Denver community's response to various challenges. The event, co-hosted with 9News, will take place on Tuesday, February 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Mountain View Room at St. Peter Claver, S.J. Hall. Join us for a screening of Una Vida Nueva, a documentary that delves into the intricate dynamics of the Venezuelan community in Denver and residents' resilience in the face of adversity. The screening will be followed by an enlightening and thought-provoking discussion that delves into the heart of the Northwest Denver community and how it fostered a sense of unity, resilience and strength. 

 At 7:30 p.m., a panel discussion will unfold, moderated by Angeline McCall of 9News, focusing on the community's response. Confirmed panelists include Denver City Councilwoman Amanda Sandoval, Marielena Suarez, Executive Director for the non-profit, Papagayo, Marc Lytle, Dean of Culture for Ricardo Flores Magon Academy and community partner Andrea Ryall, founder of Highlands Moms & Neighbors – Activating Migrant Support Facebook page, whose inspiring work has ignited similar initiatives across the state.   

This event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Spanish interpretation will be provided ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all attendees.
