Because of weather and tough field conditions, the Regis University women’s lacrosse opening NCAA Division II tournament game has been moved to MSU Denver. Regis plays at at 11 a.m. Friday against the University of Indianapolis.

Plans for a 10 a.m. tailgate are still on, but have also been moved to the Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver. Join us for free Chick-fil-A and beverages. The first 150 fans with a Regis ID get a free “The Reeg” T-shirt.

The Regis University women’s lacrosse team wrapped up the 2019 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) tournament championship on Sunday by beating Lindenwood University, 16-15, in double overtime.

For Regis, the conference’s top overall seed, it marked its third RMAC tournament championship and continued its march as one of the elite lacrosse programs in the country.

Senior Sarah Lugo got the game-winning goal in the second overtime.

Senior Sarah Myres led the Rangers with five goals and an assist, while sophomore Kyleigh Peoples added four goals and an assist.

Regis (18-0) is the only undefeated lacrosse team in all divisions of the NCAA. The team advanced to the Division II National Championship game last year and will look to get there again.

The team opens its tournament at 11 a.m. Friday against the University of Indianapolis on the Regis lacrosse field.

Indianapolis enters the game 18-1, its lone loss coming against perennial powerhouse Le Moyne College at the beginning of the season. Admission is $10. Admission for all staff is $5.

The winner will play either Lindenwood University or Colorado Mesa University at noon on Sunday at Regis.
