Regis nursing students need your help. Supplies are needed for their Gear Distribution and Wellness Fair to benefit individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness in the Denver area.

Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions’ nursing students are seeking outdoor gear and other critical supplies.

There are two ways people can help out. Online donations can be made until March 11 by clicking on the link: https://www.myregistry.com/giftlist/regishomelessfair.

Physical donations may be dropped off to marked bins in Room 315 in Carroll Hall or Room 332 in Claver Hall between 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. Donations will be accepted until Thursday, March 14.

The fair is from 10 a.m. to noon on March 16.

Since 2016, RHCHP Service Learning, in partnership with Father Woody’s Haven of Hope, has hosted the wellness fair, which also provides health information about wound care, nail care and sun exposure. Fair participants will receive supplies, such as nail clippers, hats and sunscreen, to manage that care.

The fair’s goal is to equip those experiencing homelessness with the education and tools to progress toward self-sufficiency.

RHCHP conducts the Gear Distribution and Wellness Fair twice a year; the next one is Saturday, June 22. Organizers are accepting donations for both.

The following are needed:

  • Backpacks
  • Sleeping bags
  • Blankets
  • Socks (wool, wool-blend, or other moisture-wicking material preferred)
  • Tarps
  • Bungee cords (can be used to hold belongings together, hang personal items from trees)
