Words have power (if they didn’t you wouldn’t be reading this article). Martin McGovern, co-director of Regis’ Mile-High MFA program, knows this power and is bringing students, faculty and the community together for the opportunity to critique and shape their own writing.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, from 1 – 3:30 p.m., Regis will host “Mile-High MFA in Action: Open Writing Studio” in St. Peter Claver, S.J., Hall on Regis’ Northwest Denver Campus. The two-hour writing studio will feature authors Kathryn Winograd and Rachel Weaver, who will talk with participants about how to improve their poetry and prose.

This unique open writing seminar is a perfect point of entry for writers of all levels looking to improve their craft, McGovern explained.

“These workshops provide a ‘testing ground’ for individuals interested in our Mile-High MFA program,” he said.

Whether you’re an experience author, looking to network within Denver’s writing community or want to learn more about an advanced degree in creative writing, this workshop will provide the hands-on tools to help improve your skills.

Space for this event is limited. Sign up today at events.regis.edu/writingstudio.
