Regis University Launches Master's in Applied Artificial Intelligence Program
New degree emphasizes ethical AI development aligned with Jesuit values
Regis University's Anderson College of Business and Computing has launched a Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence program designed to prepare students for the rapidly expanding field of AI while emphasizing responsible and ethical practice. The hybrid-format program combines technical training in AI, machine learning and data analysis with coursework in organizational strategy, ethics, governance and AI safety. Students will apply artificial intelligence principles across multiple sectors including business, healthcare, creative arts and public policy.
"This program represents our commitment to shaping the future of AI responsibly," said Madhu Rao, Dean of Anderson College of Business and Computing. "We're not just teaching students to build and apply AI systems across multiple fields, we're preparing them to address critical issues like bias, privacy and fairness in their work, which aligns perfectly with our Jesuit values of service and social justice."
The curriculum addresses growing demand in the AI job market, with AI-related positions projected to grow 40% by 2030. Graduates will be positioned for roles including AI/Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, AI Product Manager, Business Intelligence Analyst, Health Data Analyst and Ethical AI Consultant.
The program offers flexible scheduling with both on-campus classes at regularly scheduled times and online coursework that can be completed within weekly deadlines. Students engage in hands-on projects and community learning experiences that blend technical skills with ethical reflection and discernment which are hallmarks of Jesuit pedagogy.
"We're preparing graduates who can not only develop sophisticated AI solutions but also ensure those solutions serve the greater good," Rao added. "This holistic approach to AI education sets our program apart in the marketplace."
The Master's of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence is now accepting applications for enrollment. The program is designed for working professionals and recent graduates seeking to advance their careers in the growing AI sector.
