A Student's Guide to the Best Food on Campus

Regis offers three main spots on campus that take Dining Dollars and meal swipes: Regi’s Roast, The Hive and Walker’s Pub. You can also view these locations and their daily menus on the Grubhub app to order ahead and skip the line.

Regi's Roast

Located in the Student Center, Regi’s Roast is a cozy space where many students go for their morning coffee and study sessions. It offers a great selection of fresh food, beverages and snacks to go.

  • Breakfast Favorites: The breakfast burrito is a great choice for a morning meal if you missed out on breakfast at the Main Hall. Regi’s offers both meat and vegetarian options. Aside from the burritos, the pumpkin bread is a popular item that is prepackaged and decently sized. For those with a sweet tooth, the raspberry cream cheese croissant is a top-ranked choice.
  • Beverages: This year, Regi’s has expanded its menu to include more drink options like frozen lemonades, which have been great for those hot Colorado days. My personal choice is an iced latte with any of their syrup and sauce combinations. Other student favorites include the matcha and chai lattes.
  • Snacks to Go: A great snack to pick up is the Brookside chocolates. They are perfect to have in your dorm when you want something small while studying. If you’re in a rush, I recommend the Olli Snack Packs, which feature various cheeses, meats and crackers.

Walker’s Pub

Also located in the Student Center, Walker’s Pub features bar-style seating, a pool table, arcade games and board games. It is the perfect place to unwind with friends after a long study session.

  • Appetizers and Sides: A great starter is the cheesy bread served with a side of marinara. It is easy to share, making it a perfect social appetizer. Alternatively, the garlic knots are another excellent sharing option. If you want something lighter, the sides mainly consist of salads — unless you opt for the dessert trifle, a mini treat you can take to go.
  • Pizza and Toppings: Walker’s has several signature pizzas like the Classic, Old World, the G.O.A.T. and the Grinder. You can also build your own pizza with your choice of sauce, cheese and around 20 different toppings. For a unique treat, try the Cinnamon Swirl Dessert Pizza. It is essentially a cinnamon roll in pizza form, making it a great late-night snack since Walker’s stays open relatively late.
  • Sandwiches: Though Walker’s is known for pizza, their sandwiches are just as good. Choices include the Pesto Caprese, Meatball and Italian. I am a personal fan of the meatball sub, which is made with very fresh ingredients.

The Hive

If you prefer a more relaxed vibe over the rowdier environment of the Pub, head to the bottom of Claver Hall to find The Hive. It is styled like a diner with booths and regular seating, giving it the most traditional "restaurant" feel on campus.

  • Hive Meals: The most popular meals here are arguably the burgers and chicken tenders. The burgers are easily customizable with plenty of condiments, including a "special sauce." The chicken tenders are seasoned well and very filling. Both come with fries, which are somehow always delicious. If you want to diversify your palate, try the white rice bowl with your choice of meat and sauce, topped off with pork dumplings.
  • Sandwiches to Go: The Hive offers a good variety of prepackaged sandwiches if you need a meal for later. You can often find items from Regi’s Roast here too, like muffins or pumpkin bread, alongside bottled drinks like Coca-Cola or Dunkin' coffees.
  • Stocking Up: The Hive is one of the best places for students to stock up on dorm snacks. They carry cereal, various flavors of Cheez-Its, and plenty of candy. Their snacks tend to be more "pantry-stable" than the options at Regi's, which is helpful for students without a car on campus.

Where to go?

Whether you want sweet pastries, fresh pizza or classic American diner food, Regis has you covered. Each spot is constantly trying to expand its options, so keep an eye out for seasonal items like the pumpkin cookies at Regi’s Roast. If you’re new to Regis, the best strategy is to try them all and find your personal favorites!
