Next Steps for DPT Students

Congratulations! Now that you have been accepted to the Regis School of Physical Therapy, it is time to take care of a few details. Our innovative, accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program with an evidence-based curriculum will help you build the skills and knowledge to prepare you to practice physical therapy in the 21st century.

Your Admissions Counselor is here to guide you through the initial steps to get started, registered for your first classes and make sure you're set up for success. Your student success team is highly trained in all things Regis, so don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have!

1: Submit Your Deposit

To secure your spot on our class roster, a $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required within three weeks of receiving your admission offer. The deposit is applied directly towards your tuition and can be submitted by electronic transfer or check.

2: Activate RegisNet

You’ve got email! Your RegisNet ID will serve as your username and password for all things Regis. Once we receive your deposit, you will receive an email with your RegisNet username, at which point you'll be able to set up and activate your account.

6: Compliance Requirements

Before you take your first class, our Compliance Office needs to make sure you to complete some important requirements. Some items only take a few minutes, while others require follow-up appointments. All compliance documents must be submitted and approved by the deadline.

7: Prerequisites and Transcripts

All official transcripts and prerequisites are due on August 1 prior to starting classes with us. This is an important one – starting classes at Regis is conditional on ensuring we have all your final transcripts with the necessary prerequisites completed with a minimum grade of B-.

Computer Requirements

One of the primary resources that students will use in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is technology. At minimum, the Regis University School of Physical Therapy requires all students to have a laptop or tablet that meets the technology requirements.

APTA Student Membership

Students in the School of Physical Therapy are required to become a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) prior to the first day of classes, and maintain the membership throughout the program.

Get Ready for Classes

Once all your documentation is submitted, there are just a few more things you'll need to do before your first day of classes.

Be sure to join your cohort's Facebook group a private Facebook group where you can get to know future classmates (or potential roommates) long before classes start. Your admissions counselor will provide your invitation to join the group.

Purchase or Waive Insurance
All students who already have their own health insurance must waive the Regis student health insurance option. Students who do not waive or purchase insurance will be automatically enrolled prior to the start of classes.

Check Your Class Schedule
All incoming physical therapy students are pre-registered for your first term of classes. You'll be assigned an academic advisor in July, and they'll reach out to speak with you before classes begin.

Buy Your Textbooks
Textbooks are available one month before class begins. You can purchase or rent paperback and digital texts through the Regis Bookstore. Your custom book list can be found in WebAdvisor.

Plan for Orientation
Orientation typically occurs on the first day of classes, so be on the lookout for more information from your Admissions Counselor. You will soak up some last-minute reminders, meet future classmates and get ready for the new exciting phase of your life.
