The Data and Information Sciences Department combines computer programming, statistics, software engineering and enterprise systems engineering to train students to become world-class leaders in the various organizations they serve. Guided by Regis University’s Jesuit mission, learners in our programs receive a high-quality education, which is engaging, collaborative, rigorous and industry focused.
Through a commitment to service and community engagement, graduates of our programs are able to leverage their experiences and expertise to improve the Data and Information Sciences industry. MSDS Program Areas of Focus
Data Engineering
Data Engineering is an official specialization in the program, is achieved by taking 4 MSDE electives and 2 MSDE practicum courses, and entails Python coding skills along with database and data management skills.
Business Intelligence
Business Intelligence is a track composed of several elective courses and entails analytics, classic statistics and communication of data science results.
Machine Learning
Machine Learning is also a track of elective courses, which focuses on using Python to carry out ML and AI algorithms in a variety of ways, including deep learning (neural networks), reinforcement learning, classic AI algorithms and natural language processing (NLP) with text analytics.
